Non-Immigrant Visas (NIV)

Applications for non-immigrant visas (NIV) to the US are reviewed at US Consulate General Chengdu Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM through 12:00 noon.

Typically all issued visas may be picked up at 4:00 PM on the date of theinterview. Special circumstances, such as the need for special clearances, incomplete applications, and fraud investigations may influence the processing of individual cases and delay visa issuance.

NIV Interview Appointment Instructions

The typical wait time for an interview appointment at US Consulate Chengdu is less than seven days for all visa categories. Applicants may check the exact wait time by visiting http://travel.state.gov/visa/tempvisitors_wait.php.

NIV interview appointments must be made in advance by calling the appointment call center at 4008-872-333. There is a fee of 54 RMB per 12 minutes to access the call center. Most calls do not take longer than 12 minutes. Callers can pay for the appointment service using one of the following:

• CITIC Bank: Applicants may purchase Call Center calling cards directly from CITIC Bank at the time application fees are paid.
• Bank draft/ Postal order: Applicants can send a bank draft or postal order to the Call Center, and 10 days later may call to access the service.
• Credit/ Debit card: Payment can be made by entering the credit/debit card number when logging on to www.usavisainformation.com.cn
